Technique 1 is a 2 hour class going over techniques of a variety of different dance styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Hip Hop and Musical Theatre. This class is geared towards students who love dance and want to learn different styles. Styles will be rotated throughout the semester. Have students bring all dance shoes every week.
In this fun high energy class, we will be conditioning our bodies to keep up with the fast pace hip hop is. We will be going over various styles of hip hop and learn to incorporate them in mini combos.
Get ready to sweat and have some fun! Students will build skills and vocabulary in ballet, jazz, and tap. This class is geared towards dancers who have not yet completed any dance training as well as those who have had some basics. Students will gain a strong foundation of strength, endurance, discipline, and flexibility while working on ballet, jazz, and tap techniques. Short combos will be incorporated into the final 15-20 minutes of class.
Students 6-9yrs old will learn basic gymnastic floor exercises like forward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges. They will gain strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination through practicing these movements and playing games that promote fitness and fun! Each student will have their own 4 foot by 8 foot mat provided to utilize for class.
This mini introduction to the traditions of musical theatre will include weekly practice of vocal warm-ups, facial expressions, stage directions, sing-along songs, and joining some light choreography and costumes to form full musical numbers.
Students who have been through the Twinkle & Twirl and Sparkle & Spin Classes will continue to build their skills and vocabulary in ballet. Students who have not completed the the younger Ballet Classes will have the opportunity to learn ballet technique in addition to a strong foundation in age appropriate materials. Students will be introduced to tap in addition to doing ballet. After doing 40min of ballet, dancers will end class with tap.
